Lo Maset del Me is self-sufficient and 100% off-grid. We have looked for the most sustainable way to obtain energy and manage water with maximum comfort. We want it to be an example to promote these technologies and show that it does not compromise on comfort.
Sustainability
Electricity
The houses are "off-grid" and all the electricity is generated by the solar panels and stored in lithium batteries. We have decided not to install a backup system with a diesel generator, so be very careful with electricity on rainy days and use of appliances.
Water
We collect the rainwater from all the floors in an underground cistern of 50,000 liters and after filtering we distribute it to all the houses. Finally, the houses have ceramic filters to ensure that the drinking water is safe.
Waste water
Greywater (showers and sinks) is filtered through a vermicomposting system (worms) and subsequently a gravel bed, finally reused for irrigation. Black water (WC) first goes to a septic tank and is subsequently treated by a phytodepuration system.
Compost
Vegetable kitchen waste is composted together with dry toilet waste. The result is a great ecological fertilizer for our plants and the best example of a circular economy
Hygiene products
Detergents tend to have many components that are harmful to the environment. So we use ecological hygiene products and detergents, in this way we can use the waste water to water the fruit trees.

Enjoy our beautiful natural pool , a refreshing and ecological alternative to traditional pools. Purified without chlorine or chemicals, the water is filtered through plants and natural systems , creating a unique pool experience.
